Article 9 — Lease

1/ A rural landholder may lease out part or all of his land holding for a specific period of time that shall be determined by regional laws. 2/ Without prejudice to Sub-Article (1) of this Article, the lease period may not be more than 10 years for annual crops and 30 years for perennial crops. 3/ Without prejudice to Sub-Article (1) of this Article, the elderly, female-headed households, children, and other people who cannot cultivate their land for valid reasons may not be restricted from leasing out the whole of their landholding. 4/ Lease contracts shall be authenticated and registered before an institution authorized by regional governments.
