1/ Rural land registration and surveying
departments shall be established by
regional governments under their Rural
Land Administration and UseInstitutions.
2/ The organizational structure; and powers
and responsibilities of the departments
shall be determined under regional laws.
3/ Notwithstanding Sub-Article
(2) of this
Article, rural land registration and
surveying departments shall be
established at Regional, Zone, Special
Woreda, City, and Woreda levels.
4/ Regional rural land registration and
surveying departments shall be led by the
chief registrar and chief surveyor; zonal,
special woreda and urban rural land
registration and survey units by registrar
and surveyor; while woreda land
registration and surveying departments
shall be led by woreda registrar and
surveyor.
5/ The Regional Chief Registrar and Chief
Surveyor; and the Woreda Registrar and
Surveyor shall be appointed by Regional
Governments.

6/ The powers and responsibilities of the
Regional Chief Registrar and Chief
Surveyor; and the Woreda Registrar and
Surveyor shall be determined under
regional laws. They shall be accountable
to the respective institution head.
